President Obama reasserts that he will not compromise on the implementation of the Affordable Healthcare Act. Which side will blink first in the showdown? President Obama also confirmed that he will not renegotiate the debt ceiling. All but essential government services have ceased. Cenk reads #TYTLive tweets. With the government shutdown now under way, each party is assigning blame to the other side. Senator Mitch McConnell and Senator Harry Reid make their case against their respective parties’ position on the senate floor. Speaker John Boehner holds a press conference and reiterates the Republican case on the House floor. So far, polling shows the shutdown is reflecting unfavorably on the GOP. Rep. Darrell Issa of California and Chris Cuomo catfight it out on New Day over the shutdown and the role of government. It turns out that Senator Ted Cruz’s dad is even crazier than previously thought. He was caught on tape saying President Obama is a muslim among other ridiculous claims. The Twitter Storm is here! Ambassador Jenny reads #TYTLive tweets and Cenk answers.

A mom in Utah moves to Colorado so she can treat her 3 year old son’s leukemia. So far the CBD, a non psychoactive chemical in marijuana, has kept her son’s cancer from metastasizing. Danne Desbrow of San Diego marries his fiancee after being sentenced to 53 years to life for murder. The sentencing judge baked the couple a wedding cake. The TYT Supreme Court makes a ruling of its own. Cenk reads #TYTLive tweets. Porn star, Aurora Snow, writes a letter to her unborn son explaining the situation and circumstances preceding her decision to become an adult entertainer. Student loan defaults have surged to the highest rate since 1995. The inability to pay these debts will most likely have a multi-faceted negative effect on the economy as the option for higher education becomes less realistic for an increasing number of Americans.
