Norwegian mass-murderer Anders Brelvik is threatening a hunger strike until his demands of better prison conditions are met. This is in Norway which already has one of the most lenient corrections system in the world. Despite this particular infuriating case, the Norwegian corrections system seems to be working according to some statistics on rehabilitation and recidivism. Billionaire Tom Perkins’ fascist assholery continues. His new “genius” plan is to tie voting rights directly to income. Nice. House Republicans have decided to take an obstinate stance agains raising the federal minimum wage. Outside political groups are also coming in to lobby and ensure that a minimum wage bill doesn’t even reach the house floor. Versions of the proposed bill would include an increase in the federal minimum wage as well as tying the minimum wage to future inflation in order to avoid having to bring similar bills to a vote every few years. The Kansas state house has passed a measure allowing private businesses and public officials to discriminate against homosexuals and possibly women as well based on “religious freedom”. Tennessee is pursuing similar discriminatory laws. A ridiculous and hateful Tennessee preacher, Donny Reagan, goes an a racist rant against having multi-racial children.  The preacher went on to call mixing the races is “unnatural” while ironically trying to frame his argument as non-racist. He continued by adamantly saying he would refuse to even marry an interracial couple on biblical grounds. John Iadarola joins Cenk, Ben, and Cara for the second hour. A new Tinder imitator is about to arrive on the market, with a bit of a twist. The new app is called “Wingman” and is meant for arranging hookups during a flight. Could this possibly catch on? A 26 year old British woman violently cuts off a tattoo she got as an homage to her then boyfriend in response to his cheating on her. She went on to mail the skin to the offending ex. The tattoo read “Chopper’s Bitch” as pictures of the self-inflicted carnage clearly show. The US olympic speed skating team’s competitive woes are being attributed to technically poor uniform design. The claims may have some merit as evidence and competition results seem to backup the complaints. Cenk reads #TYTLive tweets. As a followup to the Super Bowl extravaganza, join TYT on Oscar night for a TYT style viewing party. After Facebook changed its news feed algorithm  in November, traffic to the popular news site, Upworthy, took a significant plummet. Is this a causal relationship, or is there another reason for the swan dive in number of visitors? Tesla is getting some unwanted attention from Ohio car dealers, oil lobbyists, and state legislators. Tesla, unlike other car manufacturers, sells directly to the consumer rather than going through third party licensed dealers. New legislation is being pushed to put an end to this consumer friendly policy. Flying in the face of many scientific studies touting the health benefits of religiosity, new surveys have been conducted showing a belief in hell is associated with unhappiness and a belief in heaven is associated with happiness. The correlation of health and religion is obviously more complicated than many previous simplistic studies suggest.
