The Young Turks: April 02, 2014

Ana joins Cenk for SCS.  Pat Robertson answered a Wiccan viewer’s question on whether or not he’d get to Heaven since he’s a good, moral person, but not a Christian.  Pat answered that it would be tough, but God will turn him away because his lack of acceptance of Jesus is a deal breaker.  The director of the movie Noah spoke to CNN about how he believes Genesis speaks for environmentalists, to protect the earth and its beings.  A decree in Saudi Arabia criminalizes  anyone that participates against the fundamentalist government, which includes Atheism.  A judge was recently deemed legally insane after an outburst and assault of a sheriff deputy.  She now wants her job back now that she’s got her medication that balances her out.  A teacher has been forced to resign from her job for taking a very sick student to the emergency room and paying for her bills since she didn’t have insurance.  The school ushered her out since this is the 2nd time this has happened and they warned her the 1st time.  A serious increase in the price of limes due to a big spread of bacteria has attracted the attention of Mexican drug cartels, who have been intercepting trucks carrying the fruit for their own profit. Cenk hosting today.  The Supreme Court handed down a ruling today that lifted more caps on federal campaign donations from individuals, allowing people with more money, even more freedom to buy candidates and elected officials.  The number of people that contributed the maximum donation amount was just over 600, so these same people have even more power in the next cycles.  Sen Mitch McConnell was one of the politicians that helped lead this effort to continue to be bought.  After the Conservative Justices ruled this way, Clarence Thomas spoke out even further by claiming that he would’ve completely lifted all contribution limits.  The only limit left is the one on how much one entity can give to a single candidate per election cycle.  Video of John Boehner congratulating the Justices on their decision to ‘uphold freedom.’  Since the SCOTUS decision came down, many more people have signed up at Wolf-PAC.  Sen Levin spoke out and exposed that the corporation Caterpillar avoided over $2.4 billion in taxes by legally hiding money in offshore accounts in Switzerland. The GOP continues to hold hearings on the fake IRS scandal while it has been discovered that the groups being investigated were registered as social welfare groups, but they were actually just giving money to political groups to have Conservatives elected.   It turns out that the IRS under-investigated them rather than wrongfully targeting them.  Republican candidate for Congress, Jake Rush calls himself a Conservative Straight Shooter, but is in fact a vampire by night.
