The Young Turks: September 18, 2014

Ana joins John for SCS. Occupy Wall Street has an initiative to reduce student loan debt. They purchased debts for thousands of students from their collectors at extreme discounts and dismissed the loans for the graduates. The story of the Django Unchained actress that got into a dispute with cops after they accused her of being a prostitute is updated. TMZ has released photos of the two engaged in a questionable embrace in broad daylight. Ana points out that even if they were having sex, she wouldn’t care, and to move on. Mexican authorities are investigating Miley Cyrus for desecrating their flag while performing at a show. While grinding with her comedically huge prosthetic ass on stage, some Mexican flags were rubbed on the butt. NFL Running back Jonathan Dwyer is under fire for his domestic abuse patterns with his girlfriend and child. Some Alabama Congress members are asking for a federal judge to resign over his own domestic fight with his wife. Talk about whether or not abusers should automatically lose their jobs over a domestic violence case ensues. The new marijuana portion of the Denver Post paper is looking for a regular columnist to write about sex with a weed focus. Plastic surgeons are performing liposuction on their calves so that they can fit into extremely form-fitting, high rise boots. The surgery takes nearly 1 year to recover from, so they can’t even fit into the stylish boots until the following season. John Iadarola and Michael Shure host TYT. The Kansas Senate race and the new development that they’ve allowed a candidate dropout’s name to be taken off of the ballot on the Democratic side is discussed. This will eliminate wasted Democratic votes on a vacant candidate, taking them away from the replacement. ISIS has released another video that has their British reporter/hostage speaking from a desk about how Western powers should cooperate with their demands. The FBI has apparently thwarted an ISIS plan to carry out a terror plot in Australia. The House has voted to support Obama’s plan to provide training and support to Syrian rebels of the Free Syrian Army to fight ISIS. Rand Paul gives a promising speech on the matter, but it may later prove to be contradictory given his presidential aspirations. In the wake of the Peterson child abuse situation, Sean Hannity took to his television and radio show to defend corporal punishment. He claims he was beaten with a belt and punched in the face by his father, and that he turned out fine in a video. When his panel disagreed, he pulled out his belt and illustrated how it's done. On his radio show, Hannity linked the Peterson punishment to schools not allowing parents to teach their kids that being gay isn’t normal. After an Atheist airman in the US Air Force refused to repeat the line, “So Help Me God” and fought and won to have the rule changed, Pat Robertson went on a tirade against the “Little Jewish Radical” that has pushed them to this end. He also lamented the weakness of the Air Force in being terrorized by one guy. John reads the impressive military credentials of the man Robertson attacked. A Nevada woman is suing Cliven Bundy after crashing her car into one of his cows that made it on to the road due to faulty fences around his ranch. Bundy claims that it is the government’s fault for not fortifying his fences, and that he has the right to sue her for the loss of his cow that she hit. John asks if Scotland will have their freedom tomorrow morning. He says yes, but Shure says no.
